Exploring Best Practices in Radioisotope Medicine: Almathera Team Visits Belarusian Cancer Centre

On March 24th, 2025, representatives from Almathera, accompanied by the general designer's team, visited the National Research and Practical Centre for Oncology and Medical Radiology named after N.N. Alexandrov (NRPCOMR) located in Minsk, Belarus (https://omr.by/home-en). This visit aimed to explore best-in-class technologies and gain insightful experience related to radioactive pharmaceutical production.

During the trip, attendees held fruitful conversations with Valeriy Vasilevich Sinayko, head of the Republican Centre for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). They discussed current challenges and advancements regarding diagnostic techniques and therapeutic approaches using PET imaging methods for cancer treatment.

Participants also toured various departments within the center, including production units, clinical wards, and technical spaces where radiopharmaceutical drugs are manufactured. This allowed them to witness firsthand all stages—from nuclear synthesis to finished drug formulations—and better understand the intricate workflows behind producing top-tier medications.

This excursion marked a significant milestone in realizing Almathera's ambitious project to establish a state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical production unit in Kazakhstan. Acquired knowledge will enable Almathera to refine internal procedures, adopt global best practices, enhance product quality, and prioritize patient safety.

Almathera sincerely thanks colleagues from Minsk for their warm hospitality and invaluable opportunities to observe cutting-edge technology and learn about effective work processes at NRPCOMR. Such collaborations foster stronger international ties and promote innovation-driven healthcare advancements globally.

Continuing its dedication to excellence, Almathera remains committed to partnering with leading research institutions worldwide to elevate standards in radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.
